Pierre Besner
Marine Surveyor
Marine Consultant
A.M.S.B.C. Member No 182
When it comes to boats, whether pleasure or commercial, Pierre has seen it all. As a liveaboard himself for now more than 20 years, he understands the importance of proper housekeeping and maintenance.
Since 2000, he has operated within the marine industry at different levels. From running his own pleasure craft refit company, specializing in fiberglass repairs and composites, to serving as fleet engineer for Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Coast Guard. His experience led him to manage big commercial projects for the Artic Research Foundation and manage a fleet of 12 vessels for Peace Navigation.
Whether you're in need of consultation, or a survey, Pierre has your back and will truly make the survey process seamless so you can get back on the water.
Mike Fortin
Retired as a Petty Officer Second Class after serving in the Royal Canadian Navy for more than 12 years, and living aboard his own vessels for more than 11 years, Mike is no stranger to the marine industry.
From working for his grandfather's company in Ontario as a kid, to being involved in the sailing community for the last decade, he's spent most of his adult life around boats.
Mike has worked closely under Pierre's mentorship for the last 5 years in a variety of different commercial projects from electrical overhauls, haul refits, fiberglass repairs and upgrades, and electronic suite overhauls. He's continuing his journey under Pierre's supervision as he gains more experience as a marine surveyor to obtain his own accreditations.
